Directions

Preheat oven to 400°F.
Lightly grease baking sheet pan, line with parchment paper, or use wedge-shaped scone pan.

In bowl, add water to mix and stir with fork until combined and sticky dough forms. If dough seems dry, add additional water 1 teaspoon at a time.

Drop heaping tablespoons of dough (10-12) about 3" apart onto prepared pan.

For triangle shaped scones, shape by hand into triangle or if using a wedge-shaped pan, drop even mounds of dough into each cavity and spread into triangle shape.

Bake 13-15 minutes, or until firm and lightly golden on top.

Good but burns my throat?

These are delicious, easy and a great GF scone. I can't eat them because they burn my throat. Anyone else? It's not just the lemon. Maybe it's the baking powder.

Disappointed, not as good as they used to be

I’m not sure if the recipe changed in the last few years but after not being able to find these in my local World Market in the last couple of years they finally started carrying them again. What a disappointment! I remember these being very good and lemony. However we just made them for Xmas Eve breakfast and they tasted so off! No lemon flavor at all, just tasted like citric acid and baking soda and the texture as you’re chewing just became mushy and gritty. We ate a couple and tossed the rest.

Tastier Pastries

This product provides a tasty, quick pastry treat that can easily be made even better by using the alternate preparation by adding 1/4 c. sour cream, 1/4 c. water, two eggs, 6 Tbsp butter, 2 Tbsp poppy seeds, zest from one lemon, 1 tsp. lemon extract and the basic mix. Divided evenly in an eighty-scone baking dish, these delicious scones are light and fluffy and rise nicely when prepared with these few extra ingredients. I would highly recommend this product as it provides a tasty pastry treat when prepared according to directions and a delicious fluffy scone when prepared when using alternate directions. Serve with butter or lemon curd.
