Salted Caramel Brownies – 2 ways!

 

Salted Caramel Brownies with Melted Chocolate & Caramel Centers

1 pkg. Sticky Fingers Fudge Brownie Mix
1 egg
2 tablespoons butter, melted
1/3 cup water
9 Ghirardelli Milk Chocolate Caramel Squares (unwrapped)
Coarse salt
 
1. Preheat oven to 325°F. Spray an 8”x 8” baking pan with non-stick spray.

2. In a large bowl whisk egg; slowly whisk in melted butter, then water. Stir in brownie mix until absorbed.

3. Spread ½ of the batter evenly into bottom of pan. Lay chocolate squares evenly on top of batter 3 down and 3 across. Carefully spread remaining batter over chocolate squares to cover completely.

4. Bake brownie 35-40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Sprinkle lightly with coarse salt. Cool completely.
 

Salted Caramel Brownies with Chocolate Chips & Caramel Swirls

1 pkg. Sticky Fingers Fudge Brownie Mix
1 egg
2 tablespoons butter, melted
1/3 cup water
1/3 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
20 Kraft caramels (unwrapped)
1 tablespoon milk
Coarse salt
 
1. Preheat oven to 325°F. Spray an 8”x 8” baking pan with non-stick spray.

2. Combine caramels and milk in a microwavable bowl; heat in microwave at 30 second intervals until caramels are melted. Stir to combine and set aside.

3. In a large bowl, whisk egg; slowly whisk in melted butter, then water. Stir in brownie mix until absorbed. Gently fold in chocolate chips. Pour batter into pan and spread evenly. Using a small spoon, drop dollops of caramel mixture over batter, spacing slightly apart. Using a small wooden skewer or paring knife, carefully swirl caramel through batter to make swirls.

4. Bake brownie 35-40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Sprinkle lightly with coarse salt. Cool completely.
